WHEN IS A PROSTATE BIOPSY RIGHT?

June is our Men’s Awareness Month on Prostate and Testicular Cancer at the Cancer Association.

Herewith attached a pamphlet for your information.

If you are over the age of 40, please do your prostate test yearly, look for the warning signs (as early detection is the key to beating cancer).

If you have a family history of Prostate Cancer, your risk is higher to get this cancer.

Go to your GP for your yearly examination and ask for the blood test as well.

If you are between the ages of 15 and 35, you can be at risk to get Testicular Cancer.

Boys & men need to examine their testicals for lumps and thickenings.

If you find a lump or thickening, please go see your doctor immediately.

Ladies, please encourage the men in your life to have them tested.

For information: If you do not have a medical aid, you can go to outpatients at Windhoek Central Hospital or Katutura Hospital and have your examination & tests done by a Doctor there. (The cost involved is N$15)
